About this blog and I
HI! My name is Lucia Uju Ejoh and I would like to think that I am a health enthusiast. I am an Eagle because I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Covenant University, Nigeria and I am also an Aggie because I will be graduating from Texas A&M University very soon with a Master’s degree in Public Health with a concentration in Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety. Don’t worry, it’s nothing too deep. I would work to keep the environment and workplace relatively safe.
Since my young adult life began, I have had my elder sister sometimes ask me questions like ‘what does it mean to have tuberculosis?’, ‘what do you think I should use for this cough?’, ‘what does this medical term mean?’ and I would gladly do some research on it and give her an answer. Sometimes, friends would tell me about certain habits and I would tell them the possible health implications of those habits. So this gave me the idea to start a blog that would help keep people in the know of certain health conditions, consequences, gist, rumors…you name it.
INFO: The blog would provide the latest health gist and any health information that I think is important to share.
ANSWERS: It would also give you the opportunity to ask any health related question at all, through email (2letlucia@gmail.com. Click on the menu button and go down to the end of the page) or your comments. Whatever myths you may have heard of or health information you would like to clarify, I am happy to do the research for you and give you the answers. Whatever medical jargon you do not understand, I am happy to break it down for you.
TIPS: I would be giving some factual health tips as well.
Sources of information would be from credible sites and medical or public health academic journals (don’t panic, it would be in a more fun and interesting tone). Any questions that I cannot answer would be directed to my doctor friends and they would be referenced accordingly. And if no answers emerge, we might as well leave it to God…lol.
I hope you’d gain a lot from this site and I hope it serves its purpose. I’m also learning from you and hopefully also teaching someone in the process. I’ll do my best to keep it factual, short and as simple as the English vocabulary would allow.
Let’s have fun learning!
